Munnarakkunnu Trust

Wilding our world

Munnarakkunnu means "three and a half hills" in Malayalam

മൂന്നരക്കുന്ന് ട്രസ്റ്റ്

A hundred plants may get extinct and nobody will know about it, but we
will know the effects because the forest is in unity, and if you disturb
the forest, you disturb the whole unity. When you disturb the forest,
you disturb the ecology of the whole country. If you destroy the ecology
of the whole country you will disturb the climate also

– Wolfang Theuerkauf (1948-2014, Visionary and Founder Trustee) in 1986

ABOUT US

Established in 1996, Munnarakkunnu Trust supports plant conservation, rainforest regeneration, nature education and ecological advocacy. We believe that land-based cultures are essential to vitalising the planet. We address the current extermination event of all life through diverse strategies in several locations.

Our second is the Thiriyannara Refuge in the Nilgiris.

Our head office is in Bangalore, Karnataka.
